When the hotel industry gets involved

Old Port Residence Hotel

Arti, chic and green!

La Bonne Mère watches over this unique hotel in the Old Port, offering a glimpse into the Arti-chic world of the 1950s. The virtuous team is committed to an ecological approach to reducing impact and sustainable development, which earned them a Green Key, with the encouragement of the jury! "We have a 'Green Marseille' book available for our guests and displays in the rooms to help them practice good habits, as well as our environmental charter. Any idea is welcome to improve ourselves, and we encourage them to share them."

Intercontinental Marseille Hotel-Dieu

Visionary and committed

Committing to the future: a strong commitment. The hotel has already distinguished itself through numerous initiatives and was the first in the city of Marseille to obtain the Green Key label in 2021. A pilot establishment for the "Towards a zero single-use plastic hotel" program led by the Monegasque association Beyond Plastic Méditerranée in 2022, the hotel proves that luxury is not incompatible with respect for the environment. The efforts and commitments will continue unabated. In this tenth anniversary year, the meaning is there!

Sofitel Marseille Vieux-Port

Priority to awareness

“At the Sofitel Marseille Vieux-Port, due to our location, we work closely with the local association Sauvage Méditerranée,” the team proudly announces. The products offered by the Sauvage brand are eco-designed (marine plastics, fishing nets, land-based litter, etc.) and encourage responsible behavior with the ambition of combating the massive plasticization of the Mediterranean Sea. With its recent Green Key award, the hotel occasionally raises awareness among its guests through fun initiatives and meaningful gifts. “Aware of these issues, we aim to offer a monthly “Climate Fresco” workshop. It’s a fun collective intelligence workshop that allows you to understand how the climate works, how everything is connected, and why it’s essential to take action.”

The Seaside

Sea inspiration

"We immediately fell in love with the view!" That was in 2019. Frédéric Biousse and Guillaume Foucher took over the Richelieu and remain dazzled by this building at water level, which opens onto a fascinating landscape: the infinite blue sea, the ballet of sailboats and fishing boats, the Frioul Islands. Now Les Bords de Mer, the establishment must be invested in the protection of this great blue, its signature. The restaurant run by Camille Gandolfo uses perfectly sourced products, mostly from Provence. The hotel was awarded the Green Key this year.

Les Roches Blanches

Luxury and sustainability

In addition to obtaining the Green Key label, the establishment is developing many other aspects related to environmental preservation: the installation of a permaculture vegetable garden, the exploitation of its own honey hives, waste composting, the promotion of short supply chains in catering and the privileged use of mobility are all testimonies of the desire of Roches Blanches to position itself as a model of its kind. In a world where luxury is now synonymous with sustainability, the hotel, its spa and its restaurants are committed to a proactive approach to resource management. Admiring Cap Canaille, relaxing and feasting become a pleasure here with a clear conscience!

The C2

A clear state of mind

"The challenge we set ourselves a few years ago, rewarded with a Green Key, has now become a true state of mind that we are very proud of!" explains Aurore Moreau, general manager of C2. "Our awareness has evolved, and working methods have been gradually modified. From now on, decisions are made taking into account our ecological impact while maintaining the traditional codes of luxury hospitality." Welcome products in reusable packaging, microfiltered water bottles with on-site bottling are just a few examples that protect resources. Luxury and eco-responsibility are found on every floor of this magnificent XNUMXth-century mansion.

Grand Hotel du Roi René-MGallery

Zero plastic assumed

Plastic lovers? Forget this place! The zero-plastic policy, waste sorting and recycling, and limiting waste with "TooGoodToGo" (unsold pastries are offered to individuals in the form of baskets to be saved on this app) are just a few examples of the commitment of the hotel in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. Because the body and mind are deeply connected, MGallery has developed a holistic approach to well-being, based on four fundamental pillars: the art of sleeping well, connecting with oneself and others, physical activity, and a balanced diet. A moment of tranquility that goes well with its Green Key.

A green star lights up his Secret Garden

This three-hectare estate of verdant nature, nestled in the heart of Cotignac, invites its visitors to experience the Provençal art of living. Benoit Witz's cuisine is delicate, always using the right ingredients: local, market-fresh, from the herb garden, and seasonal. Behind the doors of a former mansion built over two hundred years ago, you can enjoy his intimate and generous dishes "just like at home." His Jardin Secret restaurant has received the Green Star, recognizing its commitment to more sustainable gastronomy, which promotes naturalness and a return to essentials. L’Oustau de Baumanière

Being virtuous? A duty!

The Alpilles hotel institution needs no introduction; it and its chef Glenn Viel are part of our heritage! Beyond its third Michelin star, the green one awarded by the same guide deeply moves the young chef. "I've always had an eco-responsible mindset and have always been drawn to wild and natural fibers. Working with products from A to Z, the vegetable garden, selective sorting, and waste collection allow us to take action, and all these steps are important. And we can always do more! Less plastic, less electricity and water consumption... Beyond a source of pride, it's a duty," he tells us. When enjoying accomplished and tasty dishes, building up to the ultimate succulence, becomes a responsible act, happiness is there!

Massillan Castle

100% organic claimed

From the rooms to the spa, from the vegetable garden-orchard to the table, respect for nature is a meaning, a claim, a credo here. It's hardly surprising that its owner, Didier Perréol, devotes his life to organic produce. The son of an Ardèche farmer and a self-taught entrepreneur, he is the founder of Ekibio. At the stoves, chef Pierfranco Ferrara and his team are committed to creating cuisine in total harmony with Mother Nature. His menu is inspired by his generous Ecocert-certified organic vegetable garden, where he draws from season to season to endlessly reinvent his cuisine.

Florent Pietravalle, “locavore” priority

A true gem of architecture, luxury, and a gentle way of life, this Avignon hotel boasts another charming asset: its chef, Florent Pietravalle! Awarded 1 Michelin star and 1 green star in the Michelin Guide.

The Manville Estate

Exemplarity

When it comes to ecology, the Domaine de Manville is exemplary. In addition to its golf course, the first French circuit to hold the Ecocert label, it boasts a magnificent agroforestry farm, which can be visited, with a permaculture vegetable garden that supplies the Michelin-starred restaurant with organic vegetables. The hotel also opts for selective sorting, and food waste is transformed daily into compost to nourish the farm's land. In addition, an environmental commission within the Domaine is responsible for finding solutions to reduce our impact on nature. Enjoying a meal has become a responsible act with the Michelin-starred cuisine at the Aupiho restaurant. Chef Lieven Van Aken offers a green gastronomic menu showcasing the natural treasures grown on site.

The Bastide of Eygalieres

Green, right up to the shutters

A path, which leaves the village center; a destination, towards the beauty of a country house in its green setting. Delving into the Alpilles and finding yourself there: a certain conception of happiness! "More than a hotel-restaurant, today we want to create a living space and a true haven of peace," announce with genuine pleasure Christian and Louis, father and son, natives of Eygalières with Michelin-starred chef Christopher Hache and his partner Flavie. A successful bet. In taking over this place, rated green star, the idea was not to distort the identity of the country house with green shutters and the way it harmonizes with authentic Provence. To top it all off, this is the chef's second address. Bistro-style with home cooking, so delicious! A menu offering revisited traditional dishes to share. With local products, of course.
