Maison de Bacon

  • Tradition meets modernity
  • This Cap d’Antibes institution, founded in 1948 by the Sordello family, has transformed itself over the years from a convivial buffet to an elegant restaurant serving ultra fresh fish.

It was taken over in 2021 by two fine dining specialists, Laurent Le Fur (former Managing Director of Groupe Lenôtre and the Eiffel Tower restaurants) and chef Nicolas Davouze (Louis XV, Le Bristol and L’Oasis), both of whom are experienced in the “art of hosting”. They turned Restaurant Bacon into Maison de Bacon, an elegant and welcoming contemporary eatery with a strong tradition of serving excellent seafood. The dining room has been completely renovated in a Riviera Chic style, and is flooded with light, offering a fabulous panoramic triptych of the Mediterranean, old Antibes and the Mercantour massif. The new terrace allows diners to sit as close as possible to the surf in the shade of a modular pergola. The lively lounge bar serves aperitifs and cocktails accompanied by delicious “En K” dishes for sharing, such as fish croquettes with yuzu lemon cream and sea bass tartar in a tartlet with sour lemon caviar. Locavore chef Nicolas Davouze loves preparing seafood and sun-kissed regional vegetables, seasoned with a twist of citrus or served with a delicate treat: asparagus from Provence with fresh Comté cheese and citrus vinaigrette, and local baby vegetables glazed with barigoule jus. Fish from the daily catch are marinated in local lemons and pomegranate or delicately grilled over a wood fire. There are also traditional dishes such as Bouillabaisse served over two courses, sea bass with white truffle and langoustine ravioli in broth. The service, managed by Camille Choquart, is perfectly pitched: professional, elegant and knowledgeable.
