The famous Marseille restaurant The waters of Mars changes its name but not its soul: from now on The Lips of Mars, it remains faithful to its warm spirit and its team. Since March 2025, Igor de Prittwitz, a Lyonnais trained at the Ferrandi school and passionate about Marseille, has been the new manager. With his experience in beautiful Lyonnais houses and a notable stint at Placette et Travers, he is settling permanently in the Phocaean city. The restaurant in the Longchamp district retains what made it successful: careful and accessible cuisine, served with conviviality. Igor brings his personal touch: a redesigned decor, an expanded daytime offering, aperitifs to nibble on, and a more intimate wine list. A place of life as much as taste, The Lips of Mars wants to attract regulars, curious visitors, and even passing remote workers. Inside, 35 seats; outside, 20 on a welcoming terrace. At lunchtime, the formula remains simple and effective (2 starters, 2 main courses, 3 desserts) with tasty combinations such as asparagus cream, brousse cheese, and mint oil, or gnocchi, Cantal cheese, peas, and celery oil. As for sweets, there's strawberry-sorrel pavlova or chocolate ganache. In the evening, it's time to share: elaborate dishes, elegant presentations, and a relaxed atmosphere. Between a tonkatsu sando or a potato mille-feuille, and an orange blossom cream puff or chocolate ganache, taste buds will be delighted. "I want a place to live where you eat well, with fresh produce, a place that makes the neighborhood salivate," says Igor. A good bet!
