The Big Brunette: eat, drink, dance

@Marion Butet Studio

The formula has been a hit for several years. But Nice may have missed the boat. Where can you find a place to dine and then dance without changing address?

At La Grande Brune, the night owls are already answering, on the lookout for the latest openings. Here, on the Promenade des Anglais, four partners—three of whom come from La Petite Maison—have opened a venue with a distinctly Parisian brasserie decor, featuring burgundy walls, tasseled chandeliers, and a Renaissance ceiling fresco. Here, you're served from the first coffee, starting at 7:30 a.m., until the last drink. Even lunches can drag on, with the kitchen available until late afternoon.

The Mediterranean menu offers some gems: Black Cod, grilled octopus tentacles with chimichurri sauce, Black Angus beef, and herb-covered lamb chops. The lobster linguine and truffle tart will delight gourmets, while the Niçoise salad and deviled eggs will satisfy the more conventional.

The highlight of the show? This tiramisu, prepared fresh in the dining room before the guests' eyes. As for the cellar, it lines up classified vintages (Cheval Blanc, Mouton Rothschild) and gems from small estates, while the bar collects Japanese whiskies, infused gins, and high-end tequilas.

Starting Thursday at 22:30 p.m., the atmosphere changes. A piano bar, live bands, and DJ sets take over until Saturday evening. Here, we eat, we dance. And we come back.
