Connecting timeless tradition with contemporary modernity, this tower block takes siting and urban context into account while reconciling metropolitan ambition with local needs. Its architecture echoes emblematic buildings in Marseille's cityscape. A clearly defined construction method provides for a variety of environments and usages: offices, homes, restaurant, gym, tramway stop, primary school, swimming pools and intermediate public spaces. The project's identity derives from it being a single, simple, readable, identifiable construction. Compact and slender, the 32-floor tower comprises an outer envelope and structural slabs in plain concrete. From the outset this flexible, dynamic building's vocation was the coexistence of diverse types of users so as to foster connections between them and revive the notion of "living together".
