Concours d'architecture contemporaine
Architecture, in all its diversity
Highlighting inspiring Côte d’Azur architects, this year’s competition organised by the Syndicat des Architectes de la Côte d’Azur and COTE Magazine singled out seven projects.
It is COTE Magazine and SACA’s mission to promote Côte d’Azur excellence. The ArchiCOTE competition singles out the most promising projects conceived by architects belonging to this association, which aims to defend the profession and contribute to the debate on the challenges it faces up to a national level. A wide range of architectural achievements won awards in the following categories for this 11th edition: Project Without Planning Permission, Project With Planning Permission, Completed Amenity, Private Dwelling, Group Housing, Rehabilitation, and Less is More, plus a Special Jury Prize awarded to CAB Architects and a Student Award. The multidisciplinary jury of mostly architects evaluates each entry every year based on specific criteria. The first step checking that the proposal is contemporary and consistent with the submission. Then, to assess the project’s boldness, the architect’s self-imposed quality requirements, how the project fits into its surroundings, the quality of the final result, and the presentation board. The verdict is delivered once these steps and the jury’s deliberations are complete. The winners received their trophies, created by artist ZED, from ArchiCOTE’s partners at Villa Arson, Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art, on 21 September.
