To celebrate a birthday, pay tribute to heroes or support a worthy cause, three sports watches have dressed up to the nines.
Blancpain
For sea life.
Sporting Blancpain’s new F835 calibre fitted with a column-wheel-controlled chronograph mechanism, the Bathyscaphe Ocean Commitment Flyback Chronograph in a numbered limited edition of 250 underlines Blancpain’s commitment to the underwater world. For each one sold, €1000 will be donated for scientific expeditions to help preserve the oceans.
Omega
Tribute to Apollo 13.
In 1970, the Apollo 13 crew had to improvise after their command module was damaged, so they used their Omega watches to time a vital mid-course correction. It saved their lives. The time that correction took is recorded on the Speedmaster Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award’s dial: ‘‘What could you do in 14 seconds?’’.
Breguet
Happy Birthday!
The Tradition collection is 10 years old, and to mark the occasion Breguet has resolved a technical headache. So that activating the chronograph no longer affects the main gear train, the Tradition Independent Chronograph 7077 has two separate gear trains, one for the hours and minutes, the other for the chronograph.
