Time for fun

Louis Vuitton
Forget the date, take some time out from your daily grind, or gaze in marvel at a work of art. Anything goes. Here are four captivating experiences for you to wear on your wrist.

Hublot / Rolex
The 2023 vintage will go down in history as the year that Rolex sprung a surprise. The Swiss luxury brand decided to shake up conventions by revisiting its emblematic Day-Date 36. As well as its bold dial that displays a multi-coloured jigsaw design, this future collector’s item encourages the wearer to forget the date. When 12 o’clock comes around, the arch window displays an inspirational keyword rather than the date – Happy, Eternity, Gratitude, Peace, Faith, Love or Hope. At 3 o’clock, the date window reveals one of the 31 emojis designed by Rolex: a heart, a 4-leaf clover or a smiley.
Oris also brings a little joy to the world with the help of Kermit the Frog, a firm favourite for generations of children. Produced in collaboration with Disney, the Propilot x Kermit with its bright green dial is a reminder to stop taking life so seriously. At 6 a.m. on the first day of each month, the star of The Muppet Show pops up in the date window. Hurray for Kermit Day!
Louis Vuitton’s Tambour Fiery Heart Automata is a profusion of animations. Deep inside the watch, a thorny rose bush reveals two brightly coloured flowers. The enamel dial hides a secret among its petals and shiny centre: the gem-set pusher at 8 o’clock brings the scene to life. The hours and minutes are indicated with hands resembling thorns on a second dial trimmed with thorns. A heart begins to beat while the flowers come to life. The balletic movement ends with a bold message: Sweet but fierce.
And finally, Hublot has launched the fourth chapter in its adventure with Takashi Murakami with thirteen unique timepieces. These masterpieces come with thirteen NFTs inspired by video games and the Japanese audio-visual landscape during the 70s. Twelve will be available for purchase online exclusively on a platform that can only be accessed by holders of the 324 NFTs that were gifted to owners of a Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black or a Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow in 2022. A collector’s delight! But how does it look on the wrist? The 12 petals on the dial are a kaleidoscope of rubies, sapphires, amethysts, tsavorites and topazes. The stones create a fascinating three-dimensional spectacle that rotates on an axis with each movement, while the colourful flower contrasts with the black ceramic case.
