The latest furniture to hit the stores includes some world firsts!
Moving Tatami design José Lévy, Daiken
This first-ever collection using traditional Japanese tatami for furniture opens a new realm of possibilities for the matting found in abundance in every Japanese home. Here it forms the seat of a bench designed to express harmony between heritage and modernity, the matt tatami contrasting attractively with the glossy wood.
Pauladesign Amandine Chhor & Aïssa Logerot, Hartô
The French manufacturer is offering this stackable wooden chair whose simple lines make it unar-guably elegant and, more importantly, extremely comfortable. The plus is that the backrest is detachable and available in different colours, making the chair adaptable to a variety of interior settings.
Chubby design Alain Gilles, Verreum
This is the first upholstered glass stool, a novel combination since fabric and glass have not previously been used together. The glass is hand blown then silvered using a traditional technique. The piece’s generous form and soft contouring channel the iconic milking stool.
