Cassis plays its summer part

From August 19 to 22, the port of Cassis is transformed into an open-air concert hall for the third edition of the Accords de Cassis. Under the artistic direction of violinist Nicolas Dautricourt, the festival brings together jazz, classical music and klezmer repertoire in a setting that seems to have been designed for them: the sea, the boats and the fortress illuminated by the last rays of the day.

In total, fourteen events will punctuate these four days. Under the Berber tent erected on the Aristide-Briand esplanade, four major concerts will begin at 21 p.m., preceded from 19 p.m. by a musical "happy hour." During the day, the music will leave the stage and spread to the Villa Ariane, the public garden, and the Quai Saint-Pierre, through six serenades open to all.

The program features some unexpected pairings. The Colibris Orchestra, composed of deaf children and conducted by Frédéric Isoleta, will share the stage with the CNRS Big Band of Marseille, joined by jazz pianist Paul Lay. After two evenings dedicated to Romanticism and then Mozart, the Sirba Octet will close the festival with a whirlwind of jazz, classical music, and klezmer traditions.
