How have flowers been associated with the representation of women? From pretty decorative images to symbols of power, identity, and emancipation, the exhibition brings together some fifty original photographs and reproductions. A journey through a century, it features the writer and resistance fighter Elsa Triolet, as well as Rosa Parks, a figure in the fight against segregation, and the artist Frida Kahlo, an icon of Mexican modern art. The exhibition also includes contemporary heroines who use floral symbolism in the fight for human rights.
