The art of perfume
The painter unveils Noziglia, a collection of three first perfumes inspired by her paintings, which she signs with three noses as prestigious as they are talented.
Sometimes you have to be patient; this would be the apt adage to sum up the career of the woman who, from the age of 14, dreamed of being a nose. After conquering the public's attention with paintings as poetic as they are melancholic, Noémie Rocher is now stirring up another of our senses: our sense of smell. It took four years to develop Noziglia, a new perfume brand presenting three fragrances concocted by industry experts, like maestro Francis Kurkdjian, who created Ex Peau, a perfume whose top notes are reminiscent of cocoa, while the heart notes evoke a powdery vanilla on a base of musk and Virginia cedar: "I wear it every day, because its scent captivates me," Noémie Rocher tells us from her residence in Aix. After living in London and Paris, the artist returned to her childhood home shortly before Covid: "Living in the South allows me to have my studio attached to my house, a converted garage in which I spend hours painting and creating." A loyal follower of gallery owner Kamel Mennour, she is currently working on a new series of works, while intoxicating herself with the scents that surround her: "I love the scent of mimosa, which immediately evokes sunshine and honey, and which gives off something very joyful. But I must admit that one scent calms and soothes me instantly: that of oil painting, which I can't get enough of." These scents will undoubtedly inspire her future olfactory works.
