Mas de Peint welcomes its new chef: Dan Rodrigues

In the heart of the Camargue, The Painted Mas opens a new gastronomic chapter with the arrival of its chef Dan Rodrigues, recently awarded the World Trophy for Best French Dish. This distinction was awarded on October 19, 2025, in Nantes, at the Serbotel trade fair, before a jury composed of MOFs (Meilleurs Ouvriers de France) and Michelin-starred chefs. For this inaugural edition, candidates had to reinvent beef bourguignon in both traditional and creative versions, a balancing act that perfectly reflects the chef's signature style: respect for French culinary traditions combined with a contemporary perspective.

Trained at the École Ducasse and having worked in the kitchens of Éric Frechon, among others, Dan Rodrigues has developed a rigorous, clear, and product-centric culinary style. At Mas de Peint, he creates a regional cuisine inspired by the Camargue: AOP bull, rice, Mediterranean fish, halophytic herbs, citrus fruits, and olive oil converse in precise and refined dishes. His Brazilian heritage brings an instinct for fire and a taste for raw ingredients; French tradition provides structure and exacting standards. From this dual culture emerges a contemporary gastronomy, rooted in tradition and free of clichés.

Built in 1602 and listed as a historical monument, Le Mas de Peint spans over 500 hectares, encompassing a herd of bulls, organic rice paddies, orchards, and olive groves. Transformed into a 5-star hotel in the 1990s by the Bon family, the estate combines hospitality, a commitment to sustainability, and immersion in nature, just minutes from Arles and the salt marsh landscapes of the delta.

With Dan Rodrigues, the Mas de Peint restaurant affirms a clear ambition: to make the Camargue speak with accuracy, depth and modernity.
