Italy Over There [Re]: Italia Palladino's cuisine comes to the Lambert Collection

In Avignon, a new restaurant has enriched the dialogue between art and gastronomy. Since February 2026, Italy Over There [Re] took place within the Lambert Collection, a famous contemporary art center housed in the Caumont and Montfaucon mansions. A location that is no accident: here, the kitchen also becomes a territory of creation, in resonance with the spirit of the place.

At the helm, the chef Italia PalladinoA well-known figure among Avignon's gourmets, she has been developing a contemporary Italian cuisine for over 10 years, deeply committed to the product, balance, and ethics. Trained in Fine Arts before dedicating herself to gastronomy, she maintains a very personal artistic approach: Each dish is first born on paper, in the form of sketches and watercolors, before coming to life in the kitchen.

In this new chapter, Italian tradition is never static. It serves as an anchor for a vibrant culinary style, inspired in particular by Naples and the Amalfi Coast, but also nourished by Provence and contemporary gastronomic encounters. The dishes prioritize easily identifiable ingredients, straightforward pairings, and a strong presence of vegetables, in a constant search for balance between indulgence and nutritional value.

The project fits perfectly within the Lambert Collection's universe, where disciplines are in constant dialogue. The space itself extends this approach. Housed in a heritage building where no structural alterations are possible, the restaurant embraces a minimalist design: mobile furniture, warm colors, and materials inspired by southern Italy. The sun-drenched terrace evokes traditional Mediterranean lunches.

Between Provence and Italy, Italy Over There [Re] This builds a true bridge of taste. The products come from local farms around Avignon as well as from carefully selected Italian artisans, while the wine cellar — rich in numerous transalpine references — extends this dialogue between terroirs.

More than just a restaurant, the venue aims to become a vibrant space, connected to the artistic programming of the Lambert Collection. Openings, meetings, and events are expected to extend the dialogue between contemporary art and the culinary arts.
