Make way for the imagination, the unconscious, and dreams in this exhibition dedicated to the flamboyant Salvador Dalí. Through 96 works from France and abroad—paintings, drawings, engravings, sculptures, as well as rare photos and documents—a joyful bestiary descends upon the former penal colony of Nice, an exhibition space in the Alpes-Maritimes department. Ants, grasshoppers, elephants with spidery legs, and hybrid chimeras reveal the artist's intimate obsessions and collective myths. A rich program accompanies the event until the fall: dramatized tours, engraving workshops, “art and psychoanalysis” intersecting tours, as well as open-air jazz evenings and a film conference… Playful and sensitive.
