To mark the 120th anniversary of Paul Cézanne's death, Aix-en-Provence is dedicating a wide-ranging program of events to the artist in 2025: exhibitions, concerts, screenings, and guided tours will punctuate this commemorative year. A plethora of events that we report on every weekend in this NL. In this context, COTE MAGAZINE is presenting the exhibition "All Children of Cézanne," an original project bringing together ten contemporary artists from Aix and its surrounding areas. Through previously unseen works, Cedric Bouteiller, Nicolas Herbé, François Noël, Brake, Audrey Le Moustarder, Christopher Strong, Harps, SOMA et Katrine Funderud explore in their own way the personal, aesthetic or symbolic connection they have with the figure of Cézanne. The artistic direction is entrusted to Benjamin Perles, Editorial Director of COTE MAGAZINE and art enthusiast, and to Pascal Guibert, alias Lilly, who accompanies the artists in this dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation. Graffiti, abstraction, free figuration or optical art: the styles vary, but all claim, in one way or another, the persistent influence of the Aix painter. The exhibition takes place at the Pigonnet, a century-old hotel and emblematic place in Aix-en-Provence, where Cézanne once came to paint the Sainte-Victoire. Today, its gardens host this multi-voiced exchange between past and present, which augurs a bright future for art and its memories in our region and beyond.
COTE MAGAZINE extends its sincere thanks to the partners who made this exhibition possible: Range Rover Marseille – Aix – Toulon, Barnes Immobilier, Air France, Helen Traiteur, as well as the iconic 5* Hotel Le Pigonnet. This prestigious establishment will retain a memorable memory of this first collaboration around Cézanne's work, a prelude to many others to come. Indeed, thanks to this first artistic impulse within its midst, the Hotel Le Pigonnet has chosen to inaugurate the Petit Musée du Pigonnet, a new space that will host a different exhibition each year.
