This Provençal house, dating from 1870 and where Cézanne once set up his easel, stretches across two hectares of wild hillside at the entrance to the calanques of the Côte Bleue. Amira and Édouard, a Franco-Tunisian couple who fell in love with the place after the Covid pandemic, have transformed it into an intimate guesthouse with only two other rooms: Sole and Nube, each decorated in a sun-drenched palette, and the Terra suite, a spacious retreat adorned with Berber rugs and light wood. Here, the Mediterranean is expressed in both Italian and Tunisian styles, in a décor where Majorelle tiles meet terracotta.
We dive into the pool which seems to blend into the harbor, we climb up to the Genoese tower for a sunset over the bay of Marseille, we end the day around a table d'hôtes designed for the duo in life as in the kitchen, or this summer, by the chef in residence Khouloude.
A shaggy behemoth, more impressive than ferocious, named Mastock, watches over each arrival. Far from the standardized hotels of the city center, Casa Youm cultivates a Mediterranean lifestyle where time seems to stand still.
