48 hours in Bonnieux: Capelongue, the promise of a more intimate Provence in September

When the summer crowds recede, the Luberon regains its true character, and Capelongue becomes the perfect starting point. Perched on the Claparèdes plateau, opposite Bonnieux, one of the region's most beautiful villages, the Hôtel Beaumier takes advantage of the autumn season to reveal a more secluded side of Provence. The narrow streets can be explored without jostling, the Provençal markets resume their authentic rhythm, and the grape harvest begins in the surrounding vineyards, paving the way for wonderful wine tourism getaways.

On the first day, we set off on foot to explore Bonnieux before heading to the terrace of La Bergerie for an aperitif at sunset, when the golden light of late summer sets the Petit Luberon ablaze. In the evening, we make our way to La Bastide, the Michelin-starred restaurant of chef Noël Bérard, who celebrates this pivotal season with refined cuisine featuring local producers and seasonal vegetables. The following day, we stroll through a market (in Coustellet, Lourmarin, or Bonnieux) and then visit a local vineyard, before returning to Capelongue to savor the gentle end of the day by the pool and in the gardens.

To experience this interlude, the hotel offers the " Parfums de Provence " package: a minimum of two nights, breakfast included, a six-course dinner at La Bastide with wine pairings from the sommelier, and up to 35% off the room rate.
