  • Back to his roots

Frédéric Fekkai veut se recentrer sur la beauté naturelle et retrouver de l’authenticité.

With numerous salons in the United States and France, Frédéric Fekkai, hairdresser to the stars, wanted to come back to his roots.

Call him a star among hairstylists, for he's styled the hair of many a star, from Kim Basinger to Claudia Schiffer and Sigourney Weaver to Hillary Clinton. Frédéric Fekkai is a living symbol of the amazing success the USA can offer to a talented and enterprising young French person. After arriving in New York in 1979 at the age of 20, he opened numerous hair salons in the States and France and launched a collection of luxury hair care products. But, feeling the irresistible draw of his roots, he has come back to his native city of Aix-en-Provence. With his wife Shirin von Wuffen he recently launched Bastide, a prestige line of perfumes and beauty products for face, hands, body and bath, with strong connotations of Provençal herbs, flowers, oils and honey. It's a way of sharing his love of Provence with its intoxicating air, and the Aix area with its delicate light and its many artists and artisans. Bastide's hallmark is an alliance of nature, sensuality, authenticity and the generosity of the land. His first Bastide store, in Aix-en-Provence, is instilled with an atmosphere of serenity: 'slow beauty'. Other towns such as Paris and London should follow, and he has Australia, Canada and the UK lined up too.
