Let’s stick together

400 M2 BIS 02

Wow, the shop’s name says it all: 400m² more of prestige shopping space, newly opened in Rue Grignan. Oodles of space and the privilege of browsing through and trying on the chicest outfits to be found in Marseille.

In the heart of Marseille, in among the Cantini museum, the banks and the classic façades of Rue Grignan, you’ll find the luxest of luxury shops such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Rolex. Where else could Nathalie Baran and Alberto Chalon have chosen to set up their new temple of fashion, a paean to French chic and Italian elegance? It took months to design the store. Milanese architect Paolo Giachi, noted for the many luxury stores he has designed around the world, had to work within the limitations of a particularly long, corridor-like space. Not such an easy task. What he has done is to add lightness to the space by playing with the transparency of glass and plenty of subtly-placed lighting. It works beautifully. As you walk in your gaze is drawn from end to end of the store through a series of cosy areas, each with its own character. Walking through the store’s soft ambience in shades of ivory, brown and beige, you’ll find artworks at intervals along the way. A pleasant amble that takes you through collections for men and women by Gucci, Fendi, Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Burberry, Michael Kors, Alexander McQueen, Sergio Rossi and more. Not forgetting accessories to add a little edge to your look.
