The celebrated Swiss watchmaker now has a retail outlet in the Principality, courtesy of Ferret jewellers.
"An obvious move!" Ferret's general manager Aubery Audion, who's behind the project, saw it as preordained because: "Richard Mille was the only top luxury watchmaker without its own dedicated retail space in Monaco." Just a short walk from the Casino, the shop perfectly reflects the Mille brand spirit through a sober, masculine ambience. Efficacy and performance underlie the genetic heritage of this watch brand that has built its reputation on the use of hi-tech materials borrowed from shipbuilding, such as NTPT (North Thin Ply Technology) carbon, an exclusive material, recognisable by its extremely regular undulations, that is now used in Formula 1 cars and aeronautics too – it's a component of the fuselage of the solar plane Solar Impulse. "These are highly technical avant-garde timepieces," Aubery Audion continues. "The only ones able to withstand the extreme conditions imposed by top-level sportsmen such as racing driver Felipe Massa, tennis player Rafael Nadal or golfer Bubba Watson." But it's a hard choice between an emblematic timepiece such as the RM 11 Felipe Massa NTPT Carbon and the new RM 27-02 Rafael Nadal tourbillon that's perfect for smashing balls as it withstands 5000G without malfunctioning!
