  • More than a management course, a whole state of mind

Built in 1989, Vatel Nimes is the Vatel Group’s pilot school and the largest of the European schools teaching the French art of hospitality.

Vatel, the world's leading group of business schools for the hospitality and tourism management sector, trains operational managers. A recent study found that 80% of its alumni work in the hotel and tourist management fields. Their jobs include general manager of a hotel chain or individual hotel, hotel manager, sales manager, marketing, human resources or financial management, public relations or special events manager, housekeeper and front desk manager, to name but a few. The other 20% are recruited in other fields, especially luxury brand management, where decision-makers are impressed by their skills and know-how. The Nîmes campus is home to 900 students, 45% of whom are of international origin. Courses are given in French and English. The 150,000ft2 campus houses practical work premises, classrooms for theoretical classes, sporting facilities and the students' hall of residence. Students are familiarised with the French art of hospitality and the European and Anglo-Saxon styles of management. Perfect mastery of English and mandatory internships outside France (under the Marco Polo exchange programme) complete the Vatel concept of courses with international applicability. Its 35 schools around the world have given Vatel a sound, dynamic network of alumni that is as precious for students in search of an internship as it is for new graduates looking for work in a particular part of the world.
