Emile Ollivier, Napoleon III’s prime minister, would escape to this timeless château to forget court life alongside his wife, Blandine Liszt, the composer’s daughter, and her sister Cosima, Wagner’s wife. So in more ways than one this picturesque place makes the perfect setting for a classical music festival with an adventurous spirit. This year’s programme features Augustin Dumay (violin), Khatia Buniatishvili (piano), Katia and Marielle Labèque (piano) as well as jazz from Manu Katché, a Baroque night with Les Arts Florissants, and musicologist Nicolas Dufetel.
