yachting 2016

A lifestyle 26th edition!

  • Une 26e édition so lifestyle !

From 28 September to 1 October discover the yachting world’s best-of-best in the glamorous setting of Monaco.

Since its launch in 1991, the MYS in Monaco's iconic Port Hercule has been THE place to admire, view and buy a range of impressive yachts presented by the world’s biggest shipyards. The 2015 show registered record attendance figures and the upcoming edition promises to be another spectacular event, with an exhibition area of 20,000m², 582 exhibitors and partners, 69 brokers, 121 superyachts, 40 luxury tenders and more than 34,000 participants expected over its four days.

The MYS Car Deck: the big new addition
A true global ambassador for luxury yachting, the Monaco Yacht Show is keen to open the world of superyachts to a new type of customer. To do so, it is launching the MYS Car Deck, a new exhibition space on Quai Rainier III that will showcase a dozen luxury cars for visitors to buy or test drive. Waiting to be discovered will be Lamborghini's Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder, one of the most desirable cabriolets of the moment, the Rolls-Royce Dawn and upmarket electric sports cars manufactured by Tesla Motors, presenting its Model S P90 D. The Car Deck joins the existing hospitality and exhibition areas: the Upper Deck Lounge (the official show restaurant, launched in 2012), the MYS Captains’ and Crew Lounge (reserved solely for yacht captains and crew members since 2014), the MYS pop-up snack bar and the Café Aroma Terrace.

Around 40 world premiere yacht launches
More than 40 superyachts and megayachts are expected to make their debut appearance this year. MYS is a unique opportunity for yacht builders to unveil their most remarkable craft, and although these continue to get bigger, that is not the only purchasing criterion. Beyond size and performance, superyachts nowadays are about lifestyle and entertainment. This is exemplified by the yachts on display, such as Galactica Super Nova (70.07m), the largest ever built by Heesen Yachts. One of the fastest boats in the world, it has a stunning exterior designed by world famous naval architect Espen Oeino, while the understated contemporary interior by Dutch designer Sinot is beautifully served by Monegasque interior decorator Sabrina Monteleone. On the other hand, Vanish, the latest yacht by Dutch company Feadship, is more about pleasure. This 66.25m “lifestyle” craft has five cabins, a spa with jacuzzi and even an open-air home cinema.

Monaco Yacht Summit 2016
This networking event returns on 27 September in a new format, exclusively for a limited audience of 50 VIP guest participants. Through themed workshops the summit offers a forum for discussion about the various aspects of superyachting and provides practical information for owners and future buyers.
